Mission & Vision

Taken, from Jesus’ prayer, the MISSION of the Presbyterian Church of Stanley is
To Know Christ and Make Him Known.  

This mission breaks down into two parts:
FIRST, To create, through the work of the Holy Spirit, mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

SECOND, To allow that work of the Holy Spirit to overflow into showing Christ’s love and character to an unbelieving world. 

This is what we do.

Our VISION, taken again from John 17:23 is to be a group of believers who:
KNOW Christ.     GROW in Christ.     SHOW Christ to the World.

To invite people to KNOW Christ is to provide a relationship or teaching that is a platform for Jesus’ love and holy character.  

To GROW in Christ is to develop as a disciple of Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit, through relationships with other maturing believers striving to live under the authority of Gods’ infallible Word.

To SHOW Christ to the world is to boldly love an unbelieving and even ungrateful world beyond our broken human resources so that the world may know the Person and Holy character of the Triune God.  

This is who we aspire to be in Christ.

Click here and share how PCOS ministers to you, your family and the community. The online survey ends Sunday, Feb. 19, 11pm. These results will be included in the 2011 PCOS Annual Report. Plan to attend the Annual Congregational Meeting and pot-luck dinner on Sunday, Feb. 26, 5:30pm, meeting begins at 6:30pm. We will discuss the results of this survey and plans for 2012. Childcare is provided.
