Local Mission Opportunities

PCOS provides many Local Mission opportunities for its members- all ages. Listed below are ways you can help. If you need more information, please email Pastor Bo Burgener or call 913-681-8180.

Going to Greensburg, KS, March 18-20
We will be working on reconstruction of the Youth Center. This has been a powerful experience for our members and friends. Travel and food costs are the responsibility of the volunteers; housing will be arranged at a local church. Join us!

Serving Saturdays

are an opportunity for groups and families to serve in the community. Every fourth Saturday there will be a location to serve at. Please contact Jill in the office or sign up at the Welcome Center if want to volunteer.

February 27 - Gracious Promise Ministries, Helping with spring cleaning, sorting clothes, organizing closets and other jobs as needed.
March 27 - Heartland Presbyterian Center, Helping prepare the grounds for summer campers.
April 24 - Heartland Presbyterian Center, Helping prepare the grounds for summer campers.

Located on 8th and Benton in Kansas City, Grace works to help the families around them through offering assistance with food, clothing, addiction counseling, education, Sunday worship, and among many other needs they address, children’s after-school and summer programs.

LightHouse
A Christ-centered maternity ministry that helps women choose life for their babies and themselves. They provide physical, emotional and spiritual support for young mothers. Website

Serving Prisoners & Their Families:
Gracious Promise
This Christian ministry for prisoners exists to provide material and spiritual assistance to families of the incarcerated and ex-offenders.  Website

Angel Tree
This ministry reaches out to children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other.  Website

Holistic Help Organizations:

Johnson County Family Lodge
Located in Olathe and operated by the Salvation Army, JCFL provides food, temporary housing to the homeless and collects school supplies for children in need.

Heartland Habitat for Humanity
A nonprofit, Ecumenical Christian housing ministry, dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide. They work to provide adequate, affordable shelter and to date have renovated over 200,000 homes.  Website

Cross Lines Cooperative
Over the past forty-four years, this community outreach has been supported by a network of businesses, churches and individuals. They have provided a daily source of assistance for at-risk families, the elderly and single individuals.  Website
