Sunday School - Faith Forest

Sunday School is offered from 9:30-10:30am for children in first through fourth grades. It’s taught using the “Workshop Rotation Model.” This model allows children to learn and retain Bible stories through eight creative workshops. Biblical themes are taught in five-week units, using experiential and developmentally appropriate learning techniques. A Shepherd travels with each class to their destination every week. Shepherds develop personal relationships with the children in their group and serve as “prayer and care” partners.

We ask that all Children and Youth complete a REGISTRATION FORM activites that they participate in at PCOS. This would include Sunday School.

Additional special events for elementary kids:
Blessing of the Backpacks takes place during 9:30 worship on Sunday, Aug. 14- all students are invited to bring a backpack to worship!

3rd Grade Bibles are presented to 3rd grade students in September.
Communion Class for kids 1st-3rd grade (older kids are welcome too) in September.

Workshop leaders and Shepherds are always needed to help in this program. Notice that workshops are only a commitment of 5 or 6 Sundays. Partner with a friend or spouce and enjoy teaching kids. Email Polly Krapes or call 913-681-8180 ext. 32

NEW! Alphabet Soup
Does your child suffer from excessive fears and worries, phobias, separation anxiety, panic attacks, frequent stomachaches, nightmares, even refusing to go to school? Do you want to help your child but don't know how? PCOS is hosting a support group for parents dealing with these special issues. Often there is a guest speaker or counselor in attendance. The group meets the third Thursday of the month at 6pm and childcare is provided with a reservation, please contact Jan McCreary

1st Wednesday of each month, 9:30am, OPEN Play for Moms & Kids
