Project Light House

Project Light House is an Outreach Program designed by The Presbyterian Church of Stanley to reach those in our community that wish to live happier, fulfilling lives. This program has four components; Christian Counseling (onsite), Community Job Search Support, Financial Coaching and Compass Ministries. Details of each area of this outreach ministry are listed below.

Christian Counseling Center at PCOS
The Presbyterian Church of Stanley offers a distinctive approach to counseling that brings the transforming love of Christ and the therapeutic practice of mental health to bear on the problems and challenges of living. In the caring, accepting, and confidential environment of the Counseling Center, professionals with biblical, theological, and psychological credentials offer counseling to couples, individuals, and families. PCOS has a goal- to help those who come to the Center to find hope and to live life more abundantly; fully alive in God's love and Grace. Job Search Support Group
Thursdays, 9:30am
This group is open to the community and there is no cost.

This is a small group setting that brings together individuals who are in the process of seeking another career position.  Larry Lee will facilitate the group, call the church office at 913-681-8180 if you need more information. Click for more information.

Financial Coaching services are available for individuals or families at no cost. Members of PCOS volunteer their time and experience to help those in our community. If you are interested in being partnered with a Money Map Coach, please contact PCOS at 913-681-8180 and ask for contact information for Mike Dyess.

Experience The Promise, one of the teaching tools provided by Compass. Eric Laverentz, Senior Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Stanley, will be our guide. Using humor, personal stories, small group discussion and led by God's infallible word, he will help us experience a new confidence in "The Promise." NEW! Alphabet Soup
Does your child suffer from excessive fears and worries, phobias, separation anxiety, panic attacks, frequent stomachaches, nightmares, even refusing to go to school? Do you want to help your child but don't know how? PCOS is hosting a support group for parents dealing with these special issues. Often there is a guest speaker or counselor in attendance. The group meets the third Thursday of the month at 6pm and childcare is provided with a reservation, please contact Jan McCreary
