Youth
The Mission of the Youth Ministry is to provide a variety of opportunities for ages 6th-12th graders. All can experience the amazing love of Jesus Christ. We try to involve a variety of leaders during the year. Read/print the current CAVE NEWS newsletter.

Confirmation Class, 8th & 9th graders! This class is offered to students who feel they are ready to join the church through personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ. This class is offered annually and older students are always welcome to attend. Please contact Harlan with questions or let him know you want to participate. There will be a parent/student meeting in the CAVE, Sunday, Feb. 5 at 10:30am. Classes will meet 1-2:30pm on Sundays at PCOS: Feb. 12 & 26, Mar. 4 & 25, Apr. 1 & 15, 2012. Students will be presented for membership on Sunday, Apr. 29 at the 11am worship service.

SUNDAYS:
Sunday School Experience, in the CAVE, 9:30am. We will begin our study "The Bible is Legit."
2nd SUNDAY Youth Group: Homeless Outreach in Downtown Kansas City. Please bring gently used clothing in XL and 2XL sizes: sweatshirts and pants, jackets, and bottled water thanks. We meet at PCOS at 2:15pm, carpool then return by 5:30pm. Mark these dates to serve the homeless: 1/8, 2/12, 3/18, 4/15, 5/27.
NEW------GIRL'S NIGHT! Thursdays at 6:45pm
Bible study and hang-out time just for girls, begins Jan. 12, 2012. Here's the plan, of course we can also decide what works best for the group- show up when you can.
6:45-7pm: Hang-out
7-7:15pm: Worship
7:15-7:45pm: Speaker
7:45-8:30pm: Diggin' In (Bible study, small groups)
8:30-8:45pm: Hang-out, some more.
Parents, we need you!
Can you provide a ride for youth to an off-site event? Can you lead a small group? Can you help supervise a special event? Contact Harlan or Amy.
NEW! Alphabet Soup
Does your child suffer from excessive fears and worries, phobias, separation anxiety, panic attacks, frequent stomachaches, nightmares, even refusing to go to school? Do you want to help your child but don't know how? PCOS is hosting a support group for parents dealing with these special issues. Plan to attend our very first meeting, Thursday, January 19, 6-8pm. We will have a guest speaker, Randy Flloyd, LSC SW. He will discuss practical techniques on how parents can help their child manage and overcome anxiety with compassion rather than avoidance, accomodations, and constant reassurance.
We ask that all Students complete a REGISTRATION FORM activities that they participate in at PCOS. If Adults are going to be traveling with a group from PCOS to an event, they will need to complete a PARENT/GAURDIAN CONSENT FORM. Both forms are online and can be dropped at the church office, Welcome Center or faxed to 913-681-8186. Consent forms cannot be faxed due to notary signature. A notary is in the church office M-F, 9am-4pm, please call to verify on the day you plan to drop in.
